Student Novels

November is an inspiring month in Sophomore English at SUCCESS Academy. Students participate in

NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)

and write their own novels in 30 days. The final products are unpolished perfection. As author Rosaline Eves told Sophomore classes, “A draft just has to exist to be perfect.” We invite you to read these novels. Once you have finished a novel, please cast a vote by evaluating the novel. (And then read another one!) Writing a great story is its own reward, but Mrs. Jensen is so proud of the students’ efforts that she is also throwing in a $50 prize for the author with the highest average score. Please read at least TWO stories then fill out the judging form. Happy reading!

The opinions in the student novels are the opinions of the students, and not necessarily those of SUCCESS Academy.

The Reunion by Faith Riddle

Rated PG-13 due to mild language, references to sexual intentions, and talk of drug/alcohol abuse

A novel about a young woman who is just trying to make a life for herself and a young man who found a career early, but not a life he wants. They end up running into each other. He was someone she heard of in high school and avoided. She was a girl who had him intrigued. Something sparks between them. He’s always there for her, through the good and bad, even her father dying. Her art speaks wonders to him, and he learns to accept her. It just wasn’t enough to keep everything together.
